It is advised that you consider your body proportions before choosing a necklace because your body type affects the way the necklace will hang on you.

Here are size tips to make it easy for you to buy with confidence.

Collar necklace (12-13 inches): does not hang freely around the neck, it lies flat to the body. They go well with V-necks, boat necks, and off–the–shoulder clothes.

Choker necklace (14-16 inches): should fall around the base of the neck. A simple choker necklace matches any outfit and just about any neckline.

Princess necklace (17-19 inches): falls just below the throat. It is between choker and matinee in length. You can wear the princess length as a contrast to low, plunging necklines. For a bold eye catching look, add a pendant to your princess necklace.

Matinee necklace (20-24 inches): longer than the princess necklace, and slightly shorter than an opera length, the matinee size necklace is apt for casual or business dress.  It should sit at the top of cleavage

Opera necklace (28-34 inches): quite long in length, Opera size necklace hangs at or below the bust line, or is worn as a doubled strand. It is perfect for high or crew neckline. Its versatility allows the opera necklace to transform from day to evening wear with elegant ease.

Rope necklace (over 45 inches): the longest of all. Rope necklace is often worn doubled or tripled, otherwise hangs at, or below, the navel.
