While shopping online for jewelries, you need to consider the following factors to get quality at the right price:

Photos: get good feel of the product from the photos. If the photos are not high-quality and do not provide you with several different angles of the item, ask the seller for high quality pictures.

Product attribute: read through product details for the main attributes and features such as size, color and carat. This helps you understand if the jewelry is made out of yellow gold, base metal or silver.

For example, gold plated is not 14 karat gold. Gold plated means that the cheaper base metal has simply had a layer of 10K gold bonded to it. The gold plating will eventually wear off.

Quality: for every kind of jewelry, there is way to ascertain quality. When shopping for a diamond, look out for the four Cs (carat, color, clarity and cut). Or, if the diamond is certified by a reputable lab and if comes with a copy of the lab certificate.

Size: check out the size to make sure it fits. You need to know the chain length that fits if you are shopping for a necklace.

Warranty: you need to know if the piece of jewelry you want to buy comes with a warranty or guarantee. How long is the coverage period and damage does it cover.
